Friday, January 28

A casual brunch with Jamie over the weekends after New Year Day..
Our meet ups were usually after work when we were half dead most of the time.
Hence this was a refreshing change..

A Sunday.Brunch.Dogs.
The Sun, half-hidden.

An outing that is two months overdue..
Initiated a meetup for the doggies..
And finally I got to see Chloe =)

Photobucket

Dogs white or fluffy are definitely hard to resist cuddling them.
The two of them are both.

Photobucket

This picture became his wallpaper hurhur..

Photobucket

It was one the better brunches around.
Eggs nicely done up, generous meat portions, the al fresco was good.

Photobucket

After the meal,
We began cuddling the dogs and snapping pictures with all kinds of cameras..

Photobucket

Loooove these pictures..

Sunday, July 4

One Sunday afternoon at Riders Cafe

Photobucket

After so long..
I still did not manage to get a reservation for brunch.
So we gave the brunch a miss and thought we would try the tea instead.

Photobucket

The cafe was relatively empty at 4pm.
Perhaps the dining crowd is a gauge to how good the food is..
Well the food was not that fantastic nor that bad.
Just that the term value for money was a more suitable measurement.
A tad too pricey for the type of food served.

Citrus Prawn Skewers

I love the tingling sour sensation,
So I thought the lemon and prawns combination was quite refreshing.
The prawns were a little overcooked though.

Photobucket

Grilled Chicken Kebabs with mint yoghurt sauce

The chicken was average but the minty sauce added a little zest to the boring meat.

Photobucket

Death by Chocolate Cake

The reputation was definitely up to its name.
We were literally killed by its generous oozing, slightly bitter chocolate fudge with every mouthful of rich moist chocolate cake.
The cold vanilla bean ice cream gave an oxymoronic twist to the warm chocolate fudge.

Photobucket

Without a doubt,
This was the best of our orders.
Sinful calories to the max..!

It was DEATH indeed.

Photobucket

Guessed this was the time when all the horses were up and wandering around the premises..
Basking in the hot sun, grazing randomly whenever they found grass.
The clicking of the hooves were prominent outside the cafe on every 10 to 15 minutes interval.

We wandered around the saddle club after the meal in hope of seeing some white horses..

Horses are without fail,
One of the very dignified animals which can make one stop and stare in awe..

Photobucket

The white horses all passed us so quickly..
We finally found one grazing near the carpark =)

Photobucket

Look at its cute white eye lashes..
And it was making faces at me hurhur..

Photobucket

I approached it and patted its face..
Felt the strong bone facial structure beneath..
The owner actually warned not to stand behind the horse for fear it might kick.

A real magnificent being..

Havent posted such pictures for a long time =p
I luv the dress..

Monday, December 7

It was drizzling all right as we stared out of the cafe windows.

What a pity the al fresco area was unavailable.
Nevertheless the indoors mellowed with a cozy and quiet ambience..

We saw Caucasian patrons down pints of afternoon beer..
Couples snuggled out on the couch, relaxed.
Groups of friends catching up with one another..

Yes KPO Cafe and Bar is definitely a nice place for chilling out =)

Photobucket

The food variety was not a lot..
But they had a tempting selection of eggs on their All Day Brunch menu all right.
Cos you know how we all love eggs..
Be it sunny side up, scrambled or the omelette style..

Dear ordered The Works,
Two scrambled eggs with home made hash brows
Pork and cheese sausage and bacon strips.
He claimed that it was exactly like the breakfast he had in the States =)

I ordered Three-egg Omelette.
As the name had it..
It was a plump omelette with diced ham, fresh mushroom and tomatoes.
Did away the cheese.

The meals came with a freshly squeezed fruit juices, or coffee or tea.

Photobucket

Total damage came up to a surprised 28 bucks, including GST and service charges.

If you are
Looking for a meal like breakfast before 4pm..
Looking for a cheaper alternative to the more costly dining at Orchard Central just next door..
Looking for some atmospheric place to chill out..
Looking for Happy Hours before 8pm..
This is the place.

Not to mention that the staff's services were really good too.
They actually came to ask if we will like some water when they saw that we had finished our drinks..=)

Photobucket

Previously
We had driven past countless of times..
But we never thought that Killiney Post Office served food..
Now that we've tried it and loved it..
We reckon we will return some day =)

I love this..

Suki's Birthday Installment One

At the beginning of Sept,
A thought suddenly struck me..
Suki had posted the dates of her availability on her blog's calendar..
Most of them were taken -,-
(这女人未免太忙了吧..)

Seeing that 27 Sept was not taken,
I asked her if she wants to meet up with JS and I.
The three of us have not met up since Jun..

After some research, gave her three choices..
(1) Bread
(2) Natural settings
(3) Dim Sum

She chose the one that was most camera friendly =p
But the problem was, I didn't really know how to go there.
The Botanic Gardens MRT station will only be ready Year 2011.
We ended up alighting at Newton MRT and took a 4 bucks plus cab ride to the destination.

Hohoho..
So here we were..
But on the eleventh minute, without JS o.0

Casa Verde @ Botanic Gardens

casa verde

Probably because of the natural settings,
The cafe is quite popular among the Caucasians.
Furthermore,
As the prices shown on the menu include GST and there isn't extra service charge,
The dining experience was considerably friendly on the pockets =)

Well..
We took in all the calories..

casa verde cuisine

And then burn them off with these =p

Photobucket

Very oblivious to the passer bys in fact..
LOL

Photobucket

The jumps were not all perfect though..
Many dents on my forehead =x

Photobucket

Albeit not as natural as before..
The Botanic Gardens still has its fair share of scenic greens..
A great place for dog lovers to take strolls with their dogs..

Photobucket

The second cafe of the day came on spontaneously.
Wanting to find a nice place to chill, a nice place for cakes and drinks.
Brought her to a place where I secretly hoped she had not tried before..

Blue Mountain Cafe @ Bugis Illuma

Photobucket

Situated at a quiet corner of the new shopping centre,
The Blue Mountain Cafe is really a place for avid coffee lovers..
Loved the ambience, and the service of course.

Handed her her present..
To which I knew exactly what she needed and got it prepared a month ago =D

Tuesday, August 18

5 girls 4 guys 3 soft toys 2 cars with a pinch of salt.

Spontaneously met up at Khatib Mac and then move off to our destination at Tg Katong.
It was the first time we met the new recruit Pail but thanks to technology..
Seemed like we had known him way back.

The commotion started immediately and then persisted the minute the gang met.
Like overgrown kids on an excursion,
Guessed the patrons at Mac could hear the trail of our voices outside the corridor as we moved towards our means of transport.

With a pinch of salt

Situated at Tg Katong, not that hard to find.
Easily spotted it along the roadside, stopped the car and there we were.

The theme was evident.
Very childlike, with a nice mix of pastel colors.
The deco, simple and sweet..
Nostalgic to a fault.

The minute we settled down..
I did not even notice that we all dished out the cameras unanimously.
That was till Suki and Pail told us.

The new dining place had us wild on the toys.
Suki tried to play the birthday song on the piano..
Forgotten key by key and bore the birthday boy to sleep..
Hurhurhur

We did our job to match the theme, really.
LOL
What’s up with the geeky specs..
Can you believe we are adults of 20 something and beyond.. .. ..

Photobucket Photobucket
The food came temptingly but no mercy was spared on the pictures.

Yan's poor bro..

The birthday boy and his paper voodoo.

Very seldom do we see dining places exist within the rows of warehouses
Very unlike those eating places in the shopping centers.

Thereafter
Proceeded to town for more desserts while waiting for GI-Joe.
Orchard Central’s Ootoya was a fantastic recommendation by the guys..
The menu was a real turn on.
And these were only desserts..

As if the day activities were not enough..
The crazy cohort proceeded back to Orchard Central MOS for more mindless fun.
Yes even though the next day was a working day..

Indeed some crazy fun for a crazy belated birthday celebration for the crazy Agent Odin.
Thanks to Suki and gang for the food recommendations.

But alas, my overworked stomach..
