After some coordination, we settled for a Sunday dinner.
The Japanese-Western themed restaurant at Bugis Junction.
After so long..
Ma Maison means "My Home" in French.
The ambience was antiquely warm and cosy alright..
Reasonably priced, the sumptuous food was quite appetizing..
And the grilled potato was good!
The cottage style is exactly like those small cosy lodges that you would find by the skiing grounds..
Mostly native Japanese service staff..
Perhaps it was the layout of the restaurant, the blind spots, the sharp corners..
It was relatively challenging to seek their help.
At some point,
The gang even suggested breaking the drinking glasses to get their attention lol..
But if you asked me,
I have no idea why they used a French name for the Jap-Western restaurant.
And repeated Chinese oldies in the background.
And used a Chinese tea-cup for their signature home made caramel pudding..
And placed the green tea pudding on top of a bowl of ice like the Hong Konger way of chilling their milk tea.
And they do serve SG Tiger beer..?
Mmm..
An interesting sense of lost identity?
Or an eclectic mix of themes?
But I'm glad we met up on a weekend.
Weekends tend to allow people to relax and let their hair down.
As usual,
A group photo to end it all =)
