Just last Wednesday..
The Launch of Adobe CS5
Perhaps there is this promise of really good lucky draws..
Or probably the influence of great great speakers..
The Suntec Convention Hall was filled to the brim.
Inside that goodie bag were some brochures and price lists..
Plus..
LOL
I supposed Singaporeans are notorious for their lack of enthusiasm..
So they added these noisy tools to beef up the passive group.
Instead of clapping with our hands,
We simply moved our hands to and fro..
This got everybody high =)
The three main evangelist speakers really lived up to their names..
Teddy White
Gred Rewis
Jason Levine
As I was told..
They are not hailed evangelists for nothing..
Technical Evangelists
A technical or technology evangelist is a person who attempts to build a critical mass of support for a given technology in order to establish it as a technical standard in a market that is subject to network effects.
An evangelist promotes the use of a particular product or technology through talks, articles, blogging, user demonstrations, recorded demonstrations, or the creation of sample projects.
They have the charisma to inspire, influence and to induce..
We learnt many new skills..
And I was impressed beyond words..
An extremely fulfilling seminar.
From Photoshop to Dreamweaver to Flash to Adobe Premiere..
They showcased the CS5 new features..
Diplomatically in a light hearted manner
Wowed the audience to the max.
Among the many seminars I've attended..
This nine to six event seemed sooo short..
We just could not have enough of the witty speakers =)
*****
I was really glad that I attended the event.
Went in with many inquisitive doubts and enquiries..
Came out with satisfied answers fresh from the gurus themselves.
Been experimenting with Fireworks..
The trial and error left me with many doubts and questions..
How to blend the selected object nicely into its background,
Even with the finest details like fray hair..
How to remove the foreground object without causing a big hole in the background on the same layer..
As if there is some form of telepathy
The speaker showed us how to use the exact new function I wanted to know..
Content Aware
Getting rid of the unwanted objects in a picture has always been done manually like the above,
Stroke by stroke using rubber stamp tool..
But the new Photoshop can do it in one step -,-
And that was loud enough to draw applause from all the audience.
*****
Combining three separate pictures into one landscape picture with a straightened horizon..
Photomerge, Ruler Tool
One fine day..
You look into the horizon..
Nice scenery, nice sunrise..
But your digital camera cannot captured the full horizontal view..
So comes Photoshop..
*****
Every other designing software like Dreamweaver, Flash, or even Adobe Premiere has to start with Photoshop.
Photoshop is like the crux.
Of course the gurus took turns to showcased their specialisation..
How to make vectors..
How to draw 3D..
How to get out the source of a web site even though the site has quotes to prevent people from borrowing..
How to change a photo to a drawing..
How to do a video in just a few seconds..
How to select an object in a video and then moves with the animation..
They just made the job of a film director and a magazine photo editor look so damn easy..
And
They also kicked start my never ending quest to learn more about the software..
I will be better =)
