SOCC Commissioning Ball
Last Saturday
A huge tier of culture shock swept over me the minute I stepped out of the cab sleepily onto the grounds of Hyatt Hotel..
Suddenly I found myself in an alienated place with so many princes in blazers and coats and princesses in gowns and immaculately groomed hair..
I was a chambermaid..
Felt really out of place -,-
It was a BALL alright..
Don was right to forbid me to wear jeans, and I thought he was too exaggerating..
Quite amused by his way of introducing me to his mates..
"This is June Shun"
Don spent a total of SGD 270 on the dinner alone..
It was holy expensive nia..and horribly cold..
But the emcee was too good that no one paid attention to the food..
And everyone kept cracking up like humpty dumpty..
Don said that the money for the dinner was actually paid to the emcee, true though..
The twist of the night came when one of Don’s platoon mates proposed to his girlfriend of 3 years..
My first thoughts..
“How old is he??!”
Hmmm initially did sound a bit childplay to me..
But of course, have to give the lead some credit as he really put in a lot of effort..
The lead passed every table a slip of paper, containing the "plot":
3 other girls and the female lead were brought up on stage by the emcee as a form of sabotaged..
And then blindfolded..
While she was being distracted by the emcee with endless questions,
All the mates would hustle around, helping to arrange the light sticks on the ground reading
“Marry Me!”
Lights will go off..
And then the lead would sing her favourite song and place 2 soft toys in front of her..
The lights came back and the blindfold was off..
He got onto his knees, asking her to marry him..
Immediately the whole group of them guys knelt down with him, delcaring “Marry Him!”..
And honestly speaking, the last part was very moving..
Oh and did I mention Don won the 8th prize, a G-Shock Watch in the lucky draw??
*Bleahz*
Don couldnt help but played the grand piano outside the ballroom at the end of everything..
